Melbourne skyline, Australia
« on: April 20, 2014, 02:40:50 pm »

The Melbourne skyline from Southbank, just after sunset, with the Yarra River in the foreground. Taken on a weeknight so that many of the lights in the office buildings would be on.

I like the composition and the time of day shot with lights on and natural sky light. Saturation just a bit too much for me.

Nice work. The saturated colours suit the subject, IMO.

Funny how it looks very saturated against black, not saturated against white and perfect in print (especially high-gloss)...

I lost a lot of the sky in conversion to sRGB, though - sRGB is very weak in blues/cyans/greens.

Just printed this as a 40x120" glossy canvas - the 100MP of detail really paid off!

I like it. Framing is well done and gives a nice view of the skyline with the water in the foreground, good reflection also.
