Sedona dawn shots
« on: April 18, 2014, 12:02:13 am »

I will be in Sedona in July for only one night. All the pics & info I have seen mention the best places for afternoon/sunset light (which I'll be trying for) but to "double my chances" so to speak, what locations also work for dawn/early morning light?

I second that! Airport Mesa is a fine location for sunrise photography.

Another vote for Airport Mesa, the vista with all these red rocks is stunning.

Just to clarify...

It it a matter of parking the car somewhere then walking (trail?) to a good viewpoint? Or is there a road that circles the top of the mesa?

You have to park your car at the trailhead then take a walk. Excellent viewpoints can be just 100 m or 200 m from the trailhead, IIRC, or you can also walk the full loop.
