What is that thin black arched line? Is that actually there or is that some artifact?

That thin black line is a string of lights that runs from the top of the bridge area to the bow and stern. I'll have an article very soon on hand held panos.

Cables for 'Dress Ship' most likely. As Kevin said, Lights strung up to both make the ship look pretty in port, and sometimes at sea (but generally not).
Would be taken down to conduct flight ops !. Aviators just love random cables to run into.....
