Yosemite Again
« on: April 13, 2014, 11:57:53 pm »

As if Yosemite isn't done enough, but here are some shots taken at Yosemite.  The first I had to post as it involved carrying my 30lb bag up more than halfway up the mountain.  My legs were shaking when I got back down.  The second was taken during sunset and the third during sunup, both 30 second exposures.

Your first shot is a real winner. #2 is very nice as well, but I think the vignette is a little too heavy.

Richard, my wife also agrees with you.  I have replaced the photo with a "lighter" version.

#2: I like it, especially the reflection. Less sky might strengthen the scene.

I know Yosemite is overdone, but I never tire of seeing high quality photographs like the ones you've shared with us here. Thanks for sharing!

I like #2 very much. I like how it draws me into the center of the image. Well done.

Nr2 is the winner for sure. I also like nr3 but the tree on the left has something strange, dont know what. Maybe levels curve too much??
Cheers

#2 is the winner for me! Superb tones, great composition and mood.
#1 also has good composition and exposure, but the movement in the foreground trees bothers me, wonder what your shutter speed was (and why?).
#3 has superb composition and an interesting low contrast which seems to suit.

A fine collection of images!!

Shutter speed was around 2 seconds to get the ideal movement and character in the waterfall.  There was a lot of wind that day.  It was either the falls or the trees.

This definitely needs re-thinking because most large waterfalls look great with 1/40 - 1/2 second.  Sometimes blowing foliage looks great, sometimes not.

#3 is my favorite of the set. A lot of subtlety in that image. Great work with the water and creating mood throughout it. The lower contrast pulls me in and make me look closer.

Nice work!
