I got this one a 35,000 feet.  No, they didn't let me open the window.

Thanks, Isaac. Seeing the world from an unusual angle is one of the delightful things about flying.

I consider them to be highly artistic.  Great eye for patterns and the unusual.

These are f***'n fantastic (I'm new here - is cussin' ok?)

I hate the belittling way his work is introduced though. I understand the temptation of a journalist to think "huh, all you have to do is get in a plane, look down, and the photo makes itself for ya", but MacLean's work shows way too much attention to compositional detail to fall into the thoughtless snapshot category. Saying these are made by "basically just sticking his camera out the cockpit" takes all the talent away from him - it's just the camera and the cockpit that are reasoned necessary. It's like saying that stand-up comedy is "basically just words in a microphone"

Regardless, thanks to the OP for sharing this awesome work.

Great eye for patterns. Way above random snapshots...

"Just sticking his camera out of the cockpit" is a load of horse poo.  Those are all long lens shots, near vertical, carefully framed, expertly captured.

Silly by-line for the article, he's obviously a top-notch pro with an amazing eye.

That shipping container shot is surreal, amazing images.
