A7r and stabilisation
« on: April 10, 2014, 04:13:22 am »

Are there any lenses with stabilisation that work on the Sony? The Tamron 24-70 zoom says it doesn't have it on the Sony mount. Is there a technical reason for that, does the Sony not support the necessary contacts or whatever?

Thanks.
Not getting a very good set of reviews. Is that the only stabilised lens that works on the A7r?

you can try Canons FF lenses through adapters that enable IS.

Sony Zeiss 670-200 f/4 OSS is being released later this month in the USA, and is already available in Australia and some other places.

The A7 kit zoom, 28-70 has OSS and appears to be a decent lens, at least for the price.

the 28-70 is a beast of a kit lens... pretty sharp on my A7r if you're not pixel peeping. I picked it up just to have a quick AF lens for my A7r when I don't feel like manual focusing my adapted lenses.

An example shot from the Port of Miami last week.
