Goshute Mountains

This is my first post on this forum. Image is of the Goshute Mountains on the Utah/NV border. Used my Cannon 6d with a 24-70mm f4 L lens.

Welcome!
I think the sky is overdone. Sorry.

Welcome on the forum.
I like it, it is dramatic but, unfortunately, I also have to agree with Jeremy about the sky. Try to tone down PP a notch and you'll end up with a fantastic image.

I actually like the image, sky included. Is it overdone, according to some tastes? Probably yes. But again, I think it works well, in terms of providing the image with a special feel.

Cropping out the foreground might make the sky fit better tonally with the remaining landscape.

Hey everyone has an opinion. Follow your heart, if you like it stick with it otherwise you are chasing your tail trying to please other people.

Thanks Paul. I have always been one to listen but never over react. If the advice is what fits with my vision then I'll take it.

My take
keep the processing as is and drama of the clouds, but eliminate the heavy top half, and turn it into a Pano that allows lower level of clouds to compliment the mountains without the excessive top drawing the eye for attention. This also divides the image neatly into thirds.

David, I like what you did. It does balance out the image much better. Thanks.

Yes, it does. I think you could have left a tad more of the sky, though.

Thanks Chuck, and welcome ! glad you liked it.
I did not include more of the sky above the lower clouds, because they got rather dark on the left side. You could easily 'adjust' that, if you desired more sky ;-)
