Nikon 9000 Repair or replace?
« on: April 02, 2014, 08:22:56 pm »

Mine just quit talking to the computer.  It makes the normal startup noises and loads the transparency tray, but Vue-scan on the Mac and Nikon scan on Windows XP both report "No scanner found."  I've tried all possible combinations of turn on/reload/reboot I can think of to no avail.  I suppose it is possible that the cable suddenly went bad without provocation, but I suspect that the Firewire interface in the scanner has quit.

Anybody know of any place that might repair it?

Anybody know of a current scanner that will handle medium format transparencies?

I have an Epson 1640 that will do transparencies, but I will certainly miss the quality of the big Nikon.

Thanks,
Alan

This is the only firewire device I own, but I have tried on two different computers with the same result.

Thanks,
