Not as heavy as HP Matte Litho-Realistic but available in more roll widths and on a 3" core! + with a higher white reflection and also without OBAs: Innova IFA24 210 grams. Slightly more texture than the HP MLR. In sheet format there is a dual sided version too: IFA25. I can not testify the paper white will hold but the Matte Litho-Realistic white shifted in time too and so far I see little changes in prints hanging bare here. Some sprayed. The last HP MLR 36" was put on a 3" core by me, the curl memory became an issue. Both types are in a lower class of paper quality than for example Photorag is but the image quality is as good as it gets.

Hello all,

I heard that HP MLR will be discontinued-anyone can confirm this?- and this is a very bad news for me. Almost all my work and the work for others is printed on this. I will put Innova to my list but I dare to ask Ernst for other inexpensive and good alternatives(matt).

Thank you,

Silviu

No HP Matte Litho-Realistic ordered for some time so can not comment whether/where it is available. To test the availability best would be ordering through HP's web links to distributors.

Right now I use the paper alternative already described in this thread. I did test a 270 gr/m2 25 % cotton "art" paper that is twice the price (so an inexpensive art paper) but the image quality is not as good and the paper tends to warp on ink loads like you get with the normal profile target printing.

I rely on users that send me new paper samples to extend the SpectrumViz list and keep it up to date. No packages fell on my doormat for quite some time. Photokina 2014 might be a source but I can not promise I will attend.

I too just discovered the demise of MLR -- called Ilford and learned that IFA24 is also discontinued, at least in the US. I've got an old roll of Epson Enhanced Matte and some old HP Hahnemuhle (discontinued too I think) that I will compare to MLR. I guess I do not mind paying more and am at the beginning of my search. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Alan

I just spoke with GlobalBMG.com. They apparently source HP papers for HP (or some such). I was told that Litho Realistic Matte paper is out of stock (reading often as discontinued) everywhere because the manufacture could no longer get the paper base. She says that they are working on a very similar "improved" replacement that would be ready in 6 to 8 weeks, and that it would carry the same Litho Realistic name.
