Canon HW Matte
« on: March 31, 2014, 01:45:27 pm »

This year I started using “Canon HW Matte Coated 230 gsm” in 24”x100’ rolls as a replacement for Epson Enhanced Matte. It was cheaper, heavier, and good enough for the application.

I was buying it from Henrys here in Canada, however there seems to be delays in filling my latest order and I am coming up to a major deadline.

I am sure that none of Canon/Epson/HP run their own paper mills so it must be made by someone else branded for Canon et al.

Does anyone know what this paper really is and is it available under some other name??

That 230 gsm paper quality is quite common. If you check the SpectrumViz map
Ordinary Inkjet Papers> Matte Smooth you will see several 230gsm papers and the spectral plots do not differ much. Felix Schoeller as a likely manufacturer of that paper, Mitsubishi too. There are dual sided versions of it too.
