Looking for glossiest metallic
« on: March 28, 2014, 12:52:30 am »

What's the glossiest and shiniest metallic paper you have tried?

I want to try encasing some images printed on a shiny metallic based substrate in resin.

Not for nothing, but you realize the glossiness of the media has little to no impact of the post resin glossiness. It's the final top surface that dictates the gloss coefficient...

Hi Jeff
I realize that the final piece will be just as shinny as the top coat, but the idea is to have a metallic shine and as much contrast as possible to start with, before encasing the print on the resin.
Just an experiment.

If it is about the most metallic look you should check Sihl 4840 Masterclass Metallic Pearl High Gloss Photo RC paper, 290 gsm. I has also the highest reflection that I measured in metallic/pearlescent papers.
