Norwegian Tree Revised
« on: March 14, 2014, 11:26:15 pm »

Thank you to everyone for their earlier comments. As I was working through some of the suggestions, I thought that some of what was being suggested came out more effectively in 16:9! Well, I'm not sure, but I thought it might be worth a try. I'm still working on revisions to the square format version.

This comes alive much better than the first version, to me anyway. Both the cropping and the processing. The same processing might work well on the square one also.

I think it works very well, but its a different image now, of course.

Very nice but different vs the first image you posted. This one, in my opinion, has lost the impression of solitude of the first.

I agree.  The context pulls me in.  I think the vignette is a bit too much but then I'm not much of a fan of vignette.

Thank you all for this round of feedback. I'm working hard on improving composition and processing. This kind of advice and criticism makes a difference.

I was looking forward to a square crop, but this rectangle gives the eye something to travel to (on the right) which I like. Improved brightness, too.
