Wide gamut monitor for B&W processing?

Sorry this could be a really dumb question, but I'd rather embarrass myself asking than remaining ignorant.  As I am mostly interested in printing my images as B&W on my Epson 3880, is there any advantage to having a wide gamut monitor (AdobeRGB) as opposed to an sRGB monitor for a digital darkroom (i.e, not for final presentation)?

New wide gamut NEC PA242W, PA272W and PA302W has 2D adjustment of white point - it can dim green and blue LED independently. Thanks to this feature you can achieve warmer white points without loss of tonal quality and contrast ratio, so if you're planning to soft proof warm, high contrast papers you can get better results on such display.

Another advantage is that GBr LED backlight has more sustainable spectrum than W-LED backlight (applied in normal gamut displays) which has large peak in blue range - so GBr that's emitting much less energy in blue region backlight may be potentially less harmful to the eyes in the long run.
