Signature Paper Profiles..?
« on: March 01, 2014, 04:07:54 pm »

Just curious,I have used 2 signature papers in the last week or so,the Velvet Fine Art,& the Cold Press Natural.
I rarely use papers that need matte black ink,but I find these papers outstanding.
Does anyone know, who makes the profiles for these papers?
The are coming out of my printer {R3000},extremely accurate, sharp & detailed.they are right on the money.

The thing about those papers is that they print exceptionally well, given the right image and processing.  Even a mediocre profile could look good.  But pity the poor profile maker who creates the best possible, highly optimzed, loss-cutting profiles for crummy media.  He just can't win.

ICC profiles don't know squat about images or color in context. They treat or handle an image like a big pile of solid colors, which they are. ICC profiles describe device behavior, which has nothing to do with image content, quality or aesthetics.
