Sand Dunes
« on: February 20, 2014, 01:14:20 pm »

One of my friends herein suggested that I give this a try...I took some wind blown, snow sculptors and tried to turn them into a desert shot.
This is a learning experience, be brutal with improvement suggestions whether it be color/composition/whatever.

I think you are very close to your goal. I took a few minutes to play with your image and got something that I really liked. It involved adding contrast, decreasing saturation and stretching the levels to get a little true black and some near-max whites.

It's a nifty idea. I'd be inclined to lower the saturation a bit, and maybe clone in a couple of tiny camels marching across one of the dunes.

P.S. Don't let Chris at it or you might end up with spiral dunes falling from the sky.   ;)
