Sony RX100m2 Chromatic Aberration / Color Fringing issues
« on: February 14, 2014, 03:08:45 pm »

I was complaining about Color Fringing with the Sony RX100m2 in another recent post
(probably in the wrong sub-forum).

Are there possibly any users around here experiencing the same ?

I'm wondering if the RX100m2 is just as bad "as it is" (or as it seems to me) in this regard,
or, if my unit is somehow off-specs so that it could be worthwhile to send it in for repairs.

In a nutshell:
/> some color fringing along contrasty edges is certainly not uncommon, but it is more pronounced with this camera than I ever experienced it before.
/> In ACR, the checkbox to Remove (lateral) Chromatic Aberration is almost without any effect. Often it is actually problematic to get it well corrected with the Defringe sliders.
/> With the JPGs from in-camera conversion, or with Sony’s generic RAW Image Data Converter, it is obvious that some corrections are tried behind the scenes – with some limited success only.
