An interesting cautionary tale - maybe we do need to limit the number images moved at a time to prevent a similar problem.

I agree, Tony. In fact, my normal practice, even doing an OS tool, is to copy to the new location., make sure everything went properly, and, only then, delete the old location info.
Too many times, whether LR or OS, moves have failed in the middle....for one reason or an other.
