Starter Cartridges
« on: February 13, 2014, 12:09:40 pm »

Does anyone have a definitive answer to the question:

"Do the starter cartridges supplied by Epson with new printers have less ink in them than standard cartridges?"

Or is it just that they empty faster as a result of priming the system?

I've had my 7900 for 5+ years, but if I recall correctly the starter cartridges have a different part number than any of the replacement cartridges, and the initial ink volume is 110 ml while the smallest replacement cartridge available is 150 ml.

What printer?
Every printer is different.
For example the Epson 3880 has full carts.
Epson's 7900/9900 come with 110 ml carts and then you can purchase and install either 150,350 or 700 ml carts.

Dan's numbers align with my memory, and I think the 4900 may arrive with 80ml.

Most of the info is correct.
Epson 13" printers are full sets.
3880 is 80ml upfront
4900 is 80ml upfront (200ml at purchase)
7890/7900/9890/9900/11880 all come with 110ml  (purchase sizes are larger like someone else stated)

Canon 24" come with 90ml and you purchase 130ml (300ml on new models)
44" & 60" come with full set of 330ml

HP are pretty much all starter inks for large format
