Star mode: Capture starry skies with ease. Could be interesting.

How does the ND filter work?

If its like the G16 you just switch it on in the menu, its an LCD panel in front of the sensor.

G16 Star mode worked really well for me when I had a play, static and trails, easy as. Only produced jpg though.

This looks very interesting , fixes the big issues with the G1x.

This could turn out to be a great travel camera, as most of the shortcomings in the G1X were apparently fixed.

The star mode is very appealing to me, as basically the camera does all the stacking I normally do in the computer. The only limitation will probably be the battery life.

I found battery life on the G16 doing this was surprisingly fine, though it was cool not cold.

This thread seem misplaced: this forum is for compact _system_ cameras, meaning ones with interchangeable lenses. (And no, that does not mean ones with accessory wide and tele convertor lenses that attach in front of the main lens!)

Maybe the admins could move it to "Cameras, Lenses, and Shooting Gear".

P. S. Nevertheless, an impressive lens/sensor combo for the size; pity about the EVF being a $300 add-on!
