Canon Camera Remote app and 5D MkIII
« on: February 09, 2014, 01:16:11 pm »

Hi,

Has anyone been able to use Canon's Camera Remote app on an ipad to control a 5D MkIII using either a cable or a wifi dongle connected to the camera?

Alternatively can one use Canon's EOS Utility on an ipad, rather than a laptop, with a cable from the ipad to the 5D MkIII?

Has anyone used Helicon Remote on an ipad for the same purpose?

If there is a 'Yes', what is the resolution of the live view image on the ipad?  Is it good enough to check focussing and depth of field?

Any experience gratefully received!

I use the Cam Ranger for my 5d2 & 3's and its an excellent system.   The live View is really great and so easy to focus, the latest update as focus peaking as well.
