Thanks Michael
« on: February 08, 2014, 05:36:45 pm »

I wanted to express a heart-felt thanks for all the work you did on this site and your video journal series over the years, Michael. I have learnt a lot, but more importantly, I have been inspired by the possibilities you've presented - from your interviews (particularly with Bill Atkinson and Andrew Collett) to your own personal work that I used to see on display in your studio on Carlaw Avenue in Toronto.

You've been very fortunate to have embraced a profession that has allowed you to see the world from an uncommon perspective. Most spend their lives rushing to their graves, barely ever putting their head up to have a look. You taught me to focus on finding and appreciating what is beautiful in this world, and I discovered that there is beauty everywhere.

Thank you.

Indeed.
I guess most people have not the slightest idea how much work it is to put together such a site,
run and administer it and sustain producing new content over a long period of time and
deal with the sandbox wars occurring on the forums.
Thanks a lot and keep it up!
Cheers

Yes, it goes without saying but it is even better when it is said!  :)

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated.

Now with Kevin taking care of business we're going to expand and grow; new content, new types of content. Cool stuff coming.

If "new content" means more articles/videos about the artistical side of photography, techniques and postprocessing I'm all with you.
I'm a would-be photographer who ended up elsewhere (not a bad place actually) by the influence of some powerful entities (parents) and who tries to catch up with some dreams.
My idea and wish would be to have a knowledge base for autodidacts (like me) to find everything they need here and I think I'm not alone with this situation.
The "From capture to print" series was invaluable for me.
I also like a lot the interviews since they often broaden the personal angle of view on photography and related themes.
The LLVJ issues still provide tons of interesting stuff for me - even when leaving out in the meantime outdated technical gear reviews.
I'd happily subscribe another year if I see quality stuff keeping coming.
Cheers
