Caught in the Web - colour vs monochrome
« on: February 07, 2014, 01:26:39 pm »

Not a landscape, but a cityscape.

Webb Bridge, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge, connects the southern and northern banks of the Yarra River in Melbourne's Docklands district. Its unique design is inspired by an Aboriginal eel trap.

I took this shot from inside the bridge, stitching multiple shots from the A7r and TS-E 17L rotated around its nodal point (the shot being far too wide for the shift-and-stitch technique I generally prefer).

Can't decide whether the monochrome or colour version works better, though - what do you think?

I think that colour reinforces the other-worldly nature of the subject.

I agree.  The B&W is an interesting set of patterns but colour makes this image.

Definitely the color. A lot of pop in that image.

I like both, but colour is better, IMO.

Both versions are great, but I also go with colour here.
