Agree, very nice. Andromeda Galaxy shows up nicely - everyone's favorite fuzzy.

I haven't done much of this sort of work that I would care to show, my trial and error runs have been at a not-so-picturesque astronomy park with a light dome and a zillion small planes from the local small-aircraft airport.# What I do think is fun about my light-dome-hampered photos with boring foregrounds is that at 100% the larger of the Messier galaxies and clusters are identifiable.  So, download a Messier celestial map and take a tour of your photo!

# where there are people around who 1. know what they are looking for and are happy to answer questions from newbies 2. provide safety in numbers, in the far suburbs.

Very nice Dave!  Tell us about the ISO, aperture and shutter speed?

A single 30s exposure at f/2.8, ISO 4000.

I've had a lot of luck with 20-30s exposures between ISO 2500 and 4000 on the 6D. I've had a thought to try one of the wide/fast Rokinons to see if I get a better result.
