360° panoramic photo of the great Beech tree in Balrath Wood
« on: February 05, 2014, 01:01:25 pm »

Hi guys

Here you see a 360° panoramic photo of the amazing Beech Tree in Balrath Wood in County Meath. The tree, known as the Great Beech, is the oldest in Balrath Wood and estimated to be about 200 years old. The woodland is relatively small and the circuit is an easy walk. The tree has a beautifully sculptured form. The roots around it are exposed and the ground around it are higher than than surrounding tress. As a result it sits like a throne in the woodland getting center stage. A wonderful sight. I timed the shoot correctly and managed to get the star burst from the setting sun to give the scene an ethereal quality
