FS: Imacon 848 Film Scanner
« on: February 04, 2014, 05:27:10 pm »

This unit belonged to a client of mine - he passed and his wife is trying to sell the equipment he used. I have offered to help with technical questions and establish pricing. Any payment would be handled by my client and she would ship the unit.

The unit is operational without issues, has a few very minor cosmetic scratches - no dings or dents. Comes with the standard holder set (4x5, 6x6, 6x645, 24x36).

Asking price is $5,400.

Domestic USA shipping only.

Hi Phil -

As I mentioned, CI does not own this scanner, nor did we sell it to this client. I sold the scanner while I previously worked at PPR and the client - who was a good friend - passed away recently. I am assisting his wife with the remaining equipment.

It has certainly not had much use in recent years as a result, and has not been regularly maintained (at least recently). I did ask Debbie about the operation and condition and there don't seem to be any issues - it might not be a bad idea for whoever purchases to send it to HBI for a tune-n-lube.

What's the scanning software and its version? What OS does it require?

Thanks Steve.  Let me know if you have any ideas convenient to verification of functions and physical integrity of this unit, e.g. would the owner be willing to send it out to an authorized service agent for cleaning, calibration and evaluation?

cheers,

Phil
