Sony's CLM-V55 and A7R, and wth is HDMI?
« on: February 01, 2014, 09:50:39 am »

Being old and of poor vision,   I find the fold out lcd on the camera  is very nice.  The sony demonstrated a five inch attachable screen that looks pretty good, and  it would also help with fine focusing in daylight, IMHO, and the brightness etc is adjustable on the large screen.  It communicates with the camera via HDMI, and as such would work with Nikon or Canon cameras.
What is HDMI, and how would that affect the image?  Focus peaking is very helpful as I tend to use legacy lenses and manual focus-does HDMI degrade the information??

As additional info, the rep said they don't have any plans for a wide prime in the near future, just the zooms, although a 16-35
f4 later this year was said to be a good alternative.

Half people of this board are talking about the Sony A7/R. I believe I should go for trying the device. :)
