making compact technical camera for A7/A7r
« on: January 29, 2014, 03:08:07 am »

It will make H/V position revolving and can X-axis shifting +/- 20mm.
I thought gear driven shift mechanism first time but It will cost more, so Thinking insert stopper to -20mm / 0 / +20mm.

It can delivers on A7R,
1 shot (36mm x 24mm / 24mm x 36mm, 36.4Mpx)
3 shot
Horizontal 76mm x 24mm , (approx 75Mpx)
Vertical 64mm x 36mm, (Over 80Mpx)

A huge image size, It's over than I expect.
It can using various lenses, Hasselblad V, telephoto MF nikkor lens, any other Perspective Control lens as EF24TS-II, EF-17TS, olympus shift etc.
Personally, I hope to use Xpan lenses but It's hard to find in Seoul.

I have not A7/A7R body yet. I'm watching Body price. It's price has down and down… ;)
disassemble EF lens to sony nex adapter with electric contacts, fit to GX680 lens boards and my custom A7 body mounts…. then It can live view focusing in technical movements and work electric aperture.
So comfortable for still-life photographers !

I think It can sells worldwide.

I'm importing EF-nex adapter and Other materials are ready to making.
and thinking to buy 7" high resolution HDMI monitor for larger live view and composition.

Note.
It needs GX-680 I/II/III body but NO GX680-IIIs. <--- It can't technical movements.

Any comments are welcome.

My goal is under US$1.5K including
modified GX680 body
standard bellows
1 x copal 0 lens board
X axis gear driven a7 camera mount.

I need a money for making, modifying, plastic mock-ups… (almost for machinist)
CROWD funding ?  :)

H/V position rotating.
Gear driven X axis shift range is approx 100mm (+/- 50mm)

I'm not sure I understand - are you breaking the A7, or just remounting it?

Being able to mount perspective control lenses is listed as a feature. Seeing as Canon TS lenses can currently be mounted onto a Sony A7(r) using a basic adapter, how does this proposed technical camera improve upon this existing option?

Would it be possible to build something like a RhinoCam that tilts?  If the ground glass feature of a RhinoCam was removed, and a tilt feature was added, that would interest me. The RhinoCam sells for $300. If adding tilt is possible, maybe that would bring the cost up to $500?

Chiek,

are you breaking the A7 apart, or just remounting it by its lensmount?

You interested in designing a very small tech cam?
For APS size sensor?

No, Edmund.
I want 35mm full frame + some more movements (1.5 ~2x image circle)

Many good lenses have larger image circle than 36x24mm, olympus Om, leica R, mf nikkor.
And these lens are own special character as bokeh, color, etc...

I just want to use it.

So, you will make something like this in Sony mount?

the lens mount adapter is simply not good enough.
you need to mount the sony directly on the rear bearer (instead of the former film frame) and to manufacture a custom bellow with Sony lens mount, in order to be able to use shorter lenses and bigger movements.

I agree. these adapters are not good.
p2 bearer type is OK , but not enough to me.

That's what I'm talking about, too. 8)
Two questions:
when, and how much?

I've been using my A7r on my Cambo Ultima for almost 2 months now and its been great.   I am running the camera off the AC adapter, tethered to Sony RCC which then goes directly into C1 7.2.   I also have a 22 monitor on a rotatable VESA mount next to the camera stand for a larger live view.

Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics
