How to tint ?
« on: January 27, 2014, 05:30:47 pm »

Was reading A.A.'s account of his printing methods and how he used selenium to give the print a certain soft tone. On this image of the church I'd like to also give it a soft, slightly old look as befits a place that has weathered many a hurricane. I use PhotoShop CC.
Any suggestions or critiques are greatly appreciated.
Richard
PS- Only way to get to this church is by boat- unless you're a very confident swimmer and dark water doesn't faze you !

I'm not sure if this is as far as you wanted to tone it but I converted  it to duotone mode and used one of the Tritone presets... BL 404warm gray 401 warm gray ,converted back to RGB, brought back some contrast and saved as a JPEG
There are loads of presets in the  adjustment panel (Duotone) located in the top pull down menu bar in Photoshop, and they can be further modified with the individual curves adjustments in each tone.
