I think that's a visual effects conception of a software package that isn't quite here yet, but almost. It was "real" they would have immediately addressed her asymmetrical mouth, asymmetry being beauty violation #1. The closest things to that today are some high end color grading packages mostly intended for motion pictures.
But the software in this video is indeed real. When 1080 first appeared, the need for this kind of stuff became urgent. So here's an already lovely lily being gilded in the name of 4K, which is every actor's worst nightmare.

Joan and her glamorous contemporaries were lucky to live in the age of low resolution 35mm film stocks, diffusion filters, just-so lighting, and Mr. Hurrell's talents.
