John – I've been admiring your images for a month or so off and on since I found them here.   What kind of camera do you use?   Whatever it is they are beautiful. Whatever style it was, you are bringing her back to life.    My cameras won't do that, but I'm guessing I can imitate in post.   The highest form of flattery.

Jim, Bravo!  Don't ruin your GFX!
Thank you Brad for your comments and your interest. I use a Pentax K3. Same sensor as the Nikon 7000 series. The last three images in the Water Memory series are double exposures. Almost all the high end DSLR's have this feature. Some past images are multiple exposure, but most are simple camera movement.

Yes, excellent shots Swell Pix. I also like Mike's, especially the window and wire shot.

My regret about the window and the wire is that the wire isn't quite strong enough, otherwise I too think it's the best of the group :)

For me it's #1 but I feel it's too polite and needs some grit from Nik Bleach bypass with the settings cranked up although keeping the yellow and ideally brutalising that too. The composition is strong enough to carry some brutal processing :) all of course IMO.

Looks fine on my computer, as well as on the tablet. It's subtle which fits the overall structure of the wall, but certainly visible enough to break the pattern and attract attention. I'd like to crop off the distracting bits at the top and bottom for the same reason.

Very interesting set Eric.  "Dynamic symmetry"- I really like your title! I especially like the first one which combines a natural component with man made ones. I think to take images like these, you have to be in the right frame of mind, almost not thinking at all. Apart from patterns, I often only see and take images like this when I take a break from shooting images, just looking around, thinking of nothing at all, and then I see see something. How about you Eric?

Thank you, John. That is very much the way I photograph. Most often I just go out with no particular agenda and hope to notice when something like this catches my eye.

When I saw the scene, and the obvious symmetry, I thought of one of Edward Weston's "spoof" photographs which he called "Exposition of Dynamic Symmetry," so I stole part of his title. His image (look for it on Google) and mine have nothing in common except for the title.

Red is almost always striking. And a little bit of unwanted white can almost ruin an image.
