Visited an art museum in Cologne last year and found this interesting sphere.

Superb Pegelli.
Thanks a lot for the compliment John.
I must say it's not the fastest moving thread but a very good one. The mix on different approaches to abstracts is eye opening. Your shots have inspired me to to try some more "movement" but nothing post worthy yet. I'm still producing more images I like with finding abstract subjects with a "classical" photo, but I am enjoying your movement studies a lot. There's something intriguing in all the ones you posted here.

Thanks Eric, and also +1 on your comment on John's shot.

Also credit where credit is due, I was inspired to take my shore line shot after seeing these shots from Rajan Parrikar. I doubt I would have tried mine without having seen those first.

Thanks for the comments guys, appreciate it. Now for something different. I said to myself, I may as well crop it and really make it abstract and surreal. I cloned out at least one hundred tiny little specs of dust from the car's surface.

Thanks Eric. I'm on a roll, so I am trying to stay with momentum. It was brutal winter in Toronto. Have to make up for it!

This one makes a nice black and white, too.

If, like me, you don't have a dedicated macro, and want to use one of the innumerable close focus adapters, you end up in a position like me. This is a Raynox DCR-250 mounted on one the Olympus 75mm 1.8, shot up close and wide open, in a slight breeze.

The effect is far more abstract and indicative of what the shortcomings of the combination are: you're kind of stuck with dream-world imagery until EVERYTHING is completely still, even at speeds approaching 1/8000. Still, I dig the colors, if nothing else. It just reminds me of how much I actually need a true macro lens.

Both are very fine. I think the results of your "shortcomings" are much more interesting than are most clear, well-defined macro photos.

Thanks, Eric.

Macro has always fascinated me, and I actually DO have a hand-me-down Minolta Rokkor MD 50mm 3.5 macro from my mom from her shooting days in the 80s, but it's a real chore to use, so I keep resorting to these MacGuyver sort of 'fixes'.
