Here's one I took in Birmingham (UK) last weekend.  We were watching some of the riders finishing the Birmingham Velo 100 mile ride.  I was doing some panning shots but inadvertently set much too slow a shutter speed at first.  This was the result - possibly better than the pictures I took with the 'correct' speed.....

Life imitating (abstract) art. Boat hull, out for some TLC.
Jackson Pollock would be envious. Me too!

Indeed. No dripping required. Interesting colorscheme btw.

Absolutely wonderful, Peter. At first I thought the second was upside down. But then I thought what does it matter, it works and we will never know unless you tell us.

Reminded me of this one I had laying around. Unfortunately, I shot it just too late. A moment before the water was much calmer which gave a beautiful transition between the relative structure on top and into the wavy pattern below, but by the time the camera was ready, the moment was gone and the water ever so slightly more disturbed, almost completely changing the effect.

Lovely nonetheless. Your timing looks great from here.

John, re:orientation. That's why I signed it. :).  I actually changed my mind about orientation twice. :)

I obviously miss this one. Fantastic expressionism, in shape, colour, light and movement.

Thanks John. Let's continue the surprise in the woods theme: "If you go down in the woods today, you're sure of a big surprise...." Of course it was altered to make certain it is a big surprise.

This one is more impressionist than usual. Longer lines make it sweeping and airy, IMO.

Thank you Eric. This one is a different movement, more experimental. A bit like lens flare, echoes throughout the image.
