It's somebody's worst nightmare, but it's a fascinating image.

You'll all hate me when I tell you what it is.  It's a guilty pleasure of mine.  Aircraft.  Military aircraft in particular.

If you were to stow away in the undercarriage well of a Boeing B52, just before landing when the wheels dropped and you looked up, that is what you'd see.

Glad you like it.  :)

Aha! Good to know some of that mess unfolds & extends into something that makes sense.  :D

Darn !
my first thought was inside an aircraft bay due to the cables and hydraulics and those two struts, but the uniform level of corrosion caused me to think it had to be terrestrial rather than aircraft. Didn't realize there was that much low alloy steel in that vintage. Learn something new every day ! Now i have to wonder what all the insulated ducts were for ? keeping the tires warm ?  thanks.

Darn it, fixed before I had a chance to get snarky!

-Dave-

That's part of the trouble with writing English on a Spanish computer system. And a huge part of having failing eyesight and dyslexic fingers with a penchant for the Thelonious Monk trick of hitting between two keys. I wonder if he had bad eyes and took it from there?

At least LuLa now appears to have overcome the problem where I used to discover I had lingered too long on a reply, only to discover that it wouldn't fly anymore. It's a strange thing, but I find that the three ways of reading one's posts: as they are being typed; on the Preview; and then finally after posting, each reveals different errors in the typing or order of thought. Not a lot one can do about the latter beyond writing everything in Word and then importing it, but that kills the initial juice before it starts to bubble. It would then resemble my cooking.

But hey, depriving you of one opportunity doesn't mean I shan't offer you others. Either way, it's nice to know one is being read! I'm quite grateful to your aunt!

;-)

Some pretty cool images Peter. I guess aircraft on first. But on second I was lost.

Step right in, maybe you will get vertigo. Thought I would try to de-escalate the brouhaha over the canola field.

That's great, John.  Low light levels, quick wits.  :)  This is the last thing he saw before he was transported into another dimension...

The shimmer really makes it, Peter. All the textures and nuances of the metal come to life. Well done, 'riveting work'.

That's a lovely shot John. Every time I try something like that it's ruined by camera shake :) You'd think I'd learn.

Thank you Mike and Eric. Mike, it is a bit shaky as the escalator was moving. My idea was to create effects on the walls of the escalator and the surrounding environment. As you say, sometimes it was just too blurry, so I did a few. Here is another:

And this is the AI monster that was watching me take images in the subway. He looks benign, but he really wants to own and control you now that he is aware that he can. Same as Google, Microsoft, Apple and all the others.

"He" is a she if you ask me, and she thinks you're a breath of fresh air. She clearly has got her eye on you!

Top shot! Love the color and tone, fits the subject well, creates a lovely befitting atmosphere.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I think Oscar is right, it is a she. Once spotted, I went to her like a moth to a flame. Fortunately, I had my friends drag me away after a couple of shots.
