Just a confused deer who was startled by my camera. When he stopped I managed to get his legs before he fled ;)

From Quick Silver to honey bees... that's quite good John.

Quicksilver – thanks for that description. I liked the "fluidity" of this experimental shot. All of them were handheld at close to maximum magnification and, at f/4, a very narrow depth of field.

It was before breakfast, in fact, before the first decent cappuccino, so i have no idea what i was thinking, but then again, that's what the abstract thread is for, no?

It's very sexy, but I can't figure it out. Can I have a coffee too, please, just as long as you're making one...

Peter, the plumage is wonderful. There is texture also, as the light moves from highlight, to midtones, to shadow areas, Very nice.

Why would you want to spoil this shot with 'thinking?' I think Rob gave the best description. Of course, I am kidding about the 'thinking.' If you didn't have a greater appetite to 'see' and/or photograph that day, surely you would have just gone by it.

Beautiful! A classic example of “less is more”.

Yes, sometimes less is more. Sometimes, it can be plain boring. I have lots of those. But if you never walk that fine line, you will never know. The last image is a reminder to remember to use manual focus mode when shooting in falling snow. But I like the ethereal look, so I posted it too.
