The second one for me; the quasi-vehicles lending context and a more human connection, which is perhaps what draws me most to photography, despite (if not because) my not really being a particularly social animal in person!

Like the style a lot.

A very interesting and painterly set John B. Everyone seems to like those eccentic light lines. I find it amusing, since most of the time I would remove those light lines.

Road Trip

Have been chewing on these for a couple of days and concluded that they work remarkebly well!

RE: Road trip

Thank-you, everyone, for your comments. The eccentric light lines are reflections off the chrome on the vehicles, of course. When I was a child, travelling with my family on vacation, I would often drift into a daydreamy state. Sometimes I would narrow my eyes to a slit and watch the landscape whir by through my eyelashes. I guess I was a weird kid. Anyway, that's sort of what I was thinking about with these experiments. My wife was driving while I shot, have no fear.

I was wondering how those were done, now I know. If only I can get someone else to drive, I would do this at least once on every trip. Thanks John B.

This thread is like going into a candy store for me.

John r: Of your latest three my favorites are "Reflecting" (simple elegance) and "Oh the Colours" (dazzling -- also a reflection?)

Thanks, Eric and John B. The colours are part car and mostly tail light reflecting the autumn foliage.

The intent is abstract in that I don't care what the subject is :)

Thank you Patricia.

There's a lot of black at the bottom of your work whereas it's the top section that carries the interest and captures the eye. I'm all for dead space but I'm wondering if it looks better by losing a good bit off the bottom.

I think it needs the dead space. If it were cropped, the black and white areas would have more nearly equal prominence, and to me it feels as if the mood of the image wants the black to dominate.

Agree with that assessment, Eric. It reminds me of that order and chaos symbol.
