HP 3100 problem

MY Z 3100 was scratching prints I look down into the paper path and see a spring hanging down. I t is the spring that holds guide wheels down . It needs to be removed and replaced how hard is this can HP do this?

If it's the long strip that holds all the wheels in place , it's really easy. It's held by two screws at either end, and can be removed in about a minute. Then you can carefully put the spring back in place or remove entirely. My old Z3100 ran perfectly with quite a lot of the springs removed
