90gsm paper on Epson 11880
« on: January 13, 2014, 11:03:26 am »

Hi, wondering if someone can give me some advice/solve this mystery?

I'm printing on a 90gsm paper through Colorburst RIP, and experiencing some issues with the amount of ink being applied to the paper, which is causing it to wrinkle.  I've adjusted printer driver settings to try and compensate for this but nothing seems to work perfectly.  I am using a 90gsm of unknown brand, so this could well be my problem.  Can anybody recommend a good, reliable, 90gsm paper?

You can try turning down the ink density levels on the colors to have the printer lay down less amount of ink to see if that fixes the wrinkle issue.  Otherwise, HP or Canon have inexpensive 90 gsm bond paper available that will also work in the 11880.

If you're using a RIP, making changes to the driver wouldn't do anything.  As mentioned above, you'll need to change ink loads in the RIP itself.
