A short intro and image 'Fields of Fire'
« on: December 31, 2013, 10:47:55 am »

Hi,

I have been lurking in the background for many years! It's time... to become a bit more active in the forums. Been a pro for over 30 years now and lived all my life in Northern Ireland. Anyway heres a picture to start me off.

Cheers

Welcome on the forum, David!
I like it, the strong contrast of the wind-swept fields/fence give a very pleasing and strong image.

Great movement in this photo. Any thought to slightly lowering the values of the out-of-focus foreground grasses on the left? That might dissuade viewers from spending time there and get them moving on to the more significant bits. After all viewers are subliminally drawn to the lighter bits first, yet, they don't appear to be the main focus.

Highlight reduced as suggested, I also played with crops but I couldn't find one that I felt worked as well as the original. Suggestions welcome.
