Recently I've been taking photography a bit more serious and I started to make prints. I live in a quite small flat (the tradeoff when you live in the middle of an European city) and space is a premium so I can't really set-up a rather big printer like the Epson R3000, not to mention the rather big up-front investment.
What I've been doing is to go to a local photo store that has an Epson SureLab D3000 and with Epson Lustre and some Epson Matte paper. However, I don't have a clue on how to optimize my photos for that printer or paper so it might match what I see on the screen. So far, I've done a couple of portraits and they look OK for my untrained eye, but I was curious if anyone has any thoughts on this.
