I use the wheel to scroll the sliders all the time. Hover the cursor above the slider index pointer and click down on the wheel, then rotate the wheel to move the slider. Temp varies by 250 (too much in my opinion), Exposure by .10, and most of the others by 5 units.
I am using a Logitech mouse. The wheel (called middle button) is assigned to middle button, not zoom or anything else, in the Logitech button assignment utility. If you have the wheel assigned to zoom it may not work.
