Testing the LS240 and 2X
« on: December 17, 2013, 04:53:22 pm »

Just got news, thanks to Dave Gallagher, Capture Integration, that I'll be getting a Phase One Leaf Shutter 240 mm f/4.5 and the Schneider 2x teleconverter which was announced by Phase One on September 4, 2013.

I'm currently in Jackson Hole WY shooting winter landscape and with the addition of the 240 and 2x I'll be testing that combo on the elk herd in the National Elk Refuge as well as the winter herds of buffalo, moose and rams.

Stay tuned.

Don

Thanks Simon, that's the plan; I also plan on doing at least one writeup on our blog.  Looking forward to getting it tomorrow which means I'll start playing with it Friday.

I have tested my LS 150 with the new 2x teleconverter and found out that it is the same quality as my very sharp Mamiya 4,5/300 at infinity.

I'm curious about the weight aspect of this setup. On your blog you mentioned that it's heavy but didn't give a number. Have you had an opportunity to put it on a scale yet?
