Heysoos, life can be a crock of it.

I like the light, Russ, and the desolation of dead leaves...

My wife's funeral happened the same day as my first granddaughter's 17th bithday. Poor kid - she and Ann were very close. When she went back home and to school, one of the staff wrote this for her, and your image reminds me of it very much.

The autumn convoy of fallen leaves
Sails midstream, in random order,
Over the reflection on dark waters
Of trees with foliage still unshed
- a glory of bronze and reddened gold.

Those colours must gild the memory
When in the long winter months
Trees stretch skeletal against the sky
And Spring is but a hope to be revived.

Peter Granger Banyard SJ
Glasgow, November 2008.

Bet you never imagined your image, made in America (?), would bring moisture to an eye in Spain via Scotland.

Fr. Banyard was a fine poet, Rob. His lines grab me too. This little gravestone is just outside the community in which I spend my winters. There are three others in the yard -- a mother, a father, and a son who evidently died in WW II. All the stones are weathered, and everything else is gone, but these four stones survive. One day I went out with a couple speedlights and shot all four. Lennie's is the one that grabs me. The idea of losing a child after four days is. . .
