Over 6 years ago I was using the 680III but was restricted to Kapture groups One shot gizmo. I have found it very cumbersome and damages quite easily so I stopped using it and switched to a Linhof M679cs as I shoot Architecture. Tilt, Shift and Swing is my thing :)
I would love to go back to Fuji
With the release of some of the newer Leaf and Phase bacs recently, has anyone heard of  a more simple alternative to interface these backs with the body?
I thought RZ IID but PC lenses are limited.
Sincerely appreciated,
Jonn

I have a little bit of experience with the sync issues with using the Fuji GX680III with Digtial backs, maybe I can help you. First, what back are you using? Depending on what you are using there could be some very easy work arounds.

Thank you. I appreciate any help.
I currently shoot with a P25+ with mechanical large format lenses.
I use a small cable that connect from the digital back to the sync input on the lens. I then use this cable to wake up the digital back at which point I trigger the shutter and a capture is made.
I will be investing in a Leaf Aptus II 8 soon.
I was hoping there might be a similar situation with the Fuji...Cable from back to camera sync input, wake up the back then fire the camera.
Kapture groups interface is much more involved dealing with shutter syncing I think.
Nothing is as simple as it should be huh? lol

Is there a reason that you have not considered getting an adapter and shooting the P25 on your Linhof?

@brian
I've been working successfully with my linhof, sliding back,wake-up cable and P25 for many years now but our relationship is very complicated and it may be time for a divorce.  ;)
Just looking for a slightly less complicated system and used to really enjoy shooting with the fuji because of it's tilt and shift capabilities.

With the Aptus you will still need the KG interface box but you won't need a wake-up cable, so one less click to worry about. Same goes for the Linhof

It sounds like what you really want is a tech cam since it has LF glass, movements and easier use with a DB, don't know what your budget is or how wide you need to shoot and with what movements (crop factor could limit wides with P25's crop factor, though you would prob be fine with movements since you have a smaller sensor), just a thought, maybe Doug can chime in.

There is a Korean photographer that has been modifying all versions of Fuji GX 680 backs for years to work with digital backs without having to go the Kapture group one shot route. I believe that you send him your Fuji GX680 and for around $400 he will modify it to work. If you are interested in his email address PM me and I will look it up for you.

hi mabuse, let us know if/how the Fuji 680 thing goes if you do it. I have a Bronica which they work on also and I may want it done later on down the line.
thanks. Doug Y
