Need Basic Info about Canon IPF6000
« on: December 06, 2013, 11:04:57 pm »

I have the opportunity to acquire a Canon imagePROGRAF iPF6000S printer at a very good price. However, I would like to know if this printer is optimized for poster printing (like designs and ads) or for photo printing (fine art photo printing)? I am looking for a large format printer for printing photos.

What are positive and negative points of this printer?

Thanks.

It is optimised for posters and signs.  It uses 8 inks compared to 12 inks for the iPF6300.  The latter being much better for photo prints.

One thing that confuses me is that I can find info about a Canon ipf 6000s which is an 8 ink printer while seler mentions a Canon ipf 6000 and claims it is a 12 ink printer.

I would ask the seller to supply you with a brochure for the printer and/or a website that will site the specifications.  Also, you can go to Canon Support and check out the professional printers there.

It turned out seller had a mistake in writing the specific model. It was an ipf 5000 printer and I decided to pass it on since it's only a 17" printer.
