SNS-Pro: Help with translation
« on: November 29, 2013, 01:21:42 pm »

SNS-HDR is a highly rated HDR program developed by a Polish author. It has decent documentation is multiple languages, but the English translation needs to be improved in several instances. Can anyone figure out what these words mean or should be?

Configuring, graphical interface

The interface can be configured by changing the way połażenie and docking panels. To reposition the panel, press the left mouse button on the name of the panel (Navigator, Histogram, Color, etc.) and holding the button, drag the panel to any place.

It should be noted that the panels can not be moved when they are autoukrywania mode. If the panel is located under autoukrywania, before moving this mode should be turned off. To do this, click on the stamp , located on the title bar of the panel.

Source Images, Multiple Exposures-doesn't make sense
In the case of the photographed scene is characterized by very high contrast (there are shadows and very bright lots of lights), it is advisable to take pictures of the scene with different exposure adjustments. The maximum exposure correction plus August should be set at such a level that the shadows to the brightest image was well lit. Minus the maximum correction should be established so that the light on the darkest image was not burned. Step exposure should not be too big and most accept its value in the range from 1 to 2 EV.

Loading images-doesn't make sense to me
Removing ghosts and noise reduction. When this option is selected, the program automatically reduces the displacement of objects in different exposures of the image. Transfers objects are reduced from the brightest image exposure, and therefore a side effect of this function is to reduce noise in the image. This option is enabled only when loading multiple image exposure

Parameter Fields

SNS-HDR program provides parameters that allow you to customize the appearance of the workpiece image. Each parameter corresponds to the field that allows manipolawać parameter value.

Hi Bill,

połażenie = location?
autoukrywania mode = auto positioning mode?

manipolawać = manipulate?

Some spelling errors in Polish make it a bit harder for the translation engines to make better sense of it. Grammar is obviously not as simple to translate, so the sentences still need some interpretation.

The author/programmer, Sebastian, does not have perfect command of the English language (but then who does?), but he's a competent programmer. I've exchanged feature requests with him in the past and he seems to be a nice guy, willing to listen and sometimes implement new features when they make sense (to him). He is currently slowed down in debugging/releasing the new version 2.0 (free upgrade), according to a post on his forum, by an inner ear inflammation, but he hopes to be able and release it in December.

The user interface is IMHO pretty self explanatory, helped by the virtually real time update of the preview. The positions of the controls can be changed by dragging. There are some relatively innovative changes to what one may know from other applications, e.g. the small 'H' icons which toggle between regular and specific Highlight weighted adjustments for some of the controls.

Cheers,
Bart

Bart,

I did not intend to be overly critical--after all, I just purchased the home version based on favorable reviews by you and others and am pleased with the program. I thought some forum members could help with the translation. Here in Chicago we have more Polish persons of anywhere outside Warsaw (many no longer speak in the mother tongue), and thought some might be willing to help out.

Regards,

Bill

Already a week has passed, but maybe I could be helpful. Google translate have issues with some specifi polish image editing lingo ;). Besided writing documentation is the absolutely worst part of programming.

Rough translation:
The interface can be configured by moving and docking panels. To reposition the panel, press the left mouse button on the name of the panel (Navigator, Histogram, Color, etc.) and holding the button, drag the panel to any place.

It should be noted that the panels can not be moved when they are in auto-hide mode. If the panel is in auto-hide mode, before moving this mode should be turned off. To do this, click on the stamp , located on the title bar of the panel.

You can move panels to the second monitor.

Source Images, Multiple Exposures:
Basically it's saying that you need to take multiple exposures with 1 or 2 EV steps. As many steps as necessary to get good shadow and highlight details.

Loading images;
2. Image alignment:
When this option is turned on all images are aligned together relative to the brightest picture. Noise reduction is a side effect to this process. Only active when you are merging multiple images.

Parameter Fields
Sns-HDR allows you to adjust final image look by manipulating image parameters ( ugh, really bad english on my side, sorry ). Each parameter has a corresponding slider or advanced adjustment tool.Basic tool adjust corresponding effect globally.  Advanced adjustment tools allow you to alter effect strength for each color visible on your image.
