Sudursveit Mountains
« on: November 20, 2013, 04:11:37 am »

The Mountains of Sudursveit, South Iceland.  I love the angle of the low Winter sun on these mountains.  Hope to catch them again in a few weeks.

Beautiful indeed. I like the added warm tone from the plants in the foreground.

Very nice composition. The shadows seem very harsh to my eye.

I'd like to see more of them. Or maybe none.

Nice ice. I imagine there were practical constraints to getting closer to it.

You mean like a big icy lake?

Its a wonderful image.
But I think the foreground grass is way too contrasty and harsh.
Contrast and sharpness work very well for the ice here.
I'd also reduce the sharpening / crispness in the background mountains a slight bit.
Having sharp/contrasty areas beside slightly softer or even fuzzy ones will make the ice really jump out more.

Cheers
