Initially I selected #1 but then selected #2 after studying them a bit more.  #2 has a more stable but static composition but that seems to match the "floating in the clouds" sense of the rocks.  The foreground also supports the distant "island".  My 2 cents.

I agree. The second works best for me.

#2:
Better toning, better foreground

The second is a better shot, but if I were going through a miserable phase, I'd probably prefer the first. I like things - music, photographs, whatever - that match my moods.

Really interesting concept, I like both images however the toning on the first image is flat for me. I would like to see some better composition neither image works in my mind as perfect. If the three rocks in the middle could be framed of center that starts to get my attention. I love the effort though.

I actually prefer the first shot. Looks like a landscape from a far off planet. Everything looks as if it belongs. We'll balanced. Moody. No.2 the rocks at the top look detached from the scene, like they're on top of a cloud.

Number 1 looks real. Number 2 looks like a post processed image, in particular with the hard cutoff between the water and the sky. No detail in the middle ground with the second image and for a scene like this to work the foreground, middle ground, and background should be able to pull the viewers eyes through the scene.
