It takes a shark-riding, bear-wrestling, bare-chested, real man like Putin to stand up for the rights of us, real photographers ;)

Quote
Any journalist who snaps Sepia Instagrams of their brunch at the Sochi Olympics will promptly lose their accreditation for the games. “Journalists using mobile phones to film athletes or spectators will be considered a serious violation and will result in cancellation of accreditation,” reported Vasily Konov, head of the Russian state-run R-Sports news outlet.

There is an official PRESS ACCREDITATION PROCEDURE for the XXII OLYMPIC WINTER GAMES SOCHI. At a cost of Bn$51 they would be foolish not to have tight controls on the media. I'm sure the 2800 photographers at the games would be grateful for the protection of their rights.

Karl Marx was absolutely right when he pointed out individuals don't have any personalities in a capitalist setup because only kapital has personality.

If you go to the Twins Fest in Ohio credentials are $1200. Credentials are more and more a way of life.

Are they going to ban gay and lesbian photographers too?

I seem to recall, that some well known photojournalists also used their phones at the recent UK Olympics.
