fall_colors

I would appreciate comments on how to improve this photograph in terms of composition and processing.
Taken in one of the local parks in Nashville after a brief rainfall.
Thanks

The image is good as it is.
I like the colors.

What you might want to do to enhance it, is to separate the plants in the forground a bit more from their background.

There are several ways to achieve this, like:
- luminosity contrast (Darken the plants further, lighten the background - thats different here from what we'd normally do)
- color contrast (Give the background a cooler color touch)
- Acuity contrast (Sharpen foreground, blur background)

It will end up with using layers and local adjustments.
I think there is more potential to unleash in this image.

An important point is, where the largest plant cuts the green line in the background, bit right from the center.
This will need special attention - use your eye and subjective judgement how you want to treat this.

Cheers
~Chris

I pretty much agree with Chris. I would like the sky left alone and the foreground lightened, but with the nearest plants darkened a bit. Some of this can be achieved with an increase in Clarity in Lightroom, or some masking and curves in Photoshop.

The colors and image have great potential, IMHO.

Composition -- I might try closer to the trees, allocating about 1/3 each to field, forest and sky. Good timing on the light and sky.
