Canon Speedlite on another camera
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:47:47 am »

I was wondering what would happen if I used a Canon 580 EX speedlite on a Sony RX1 or Leica M9? Is there any possibility of hardware damage, or is there a compatibility issue? I know TTL metering wouldn't work, but is that the only issue? Thanks everyone!

Sony is using a different hot shoe, otherwise if your flash can fire in manual mode being activated by just a central contract nothing wrong shall happen (flashes from digital era, designed for digital cameras will not fry another digital camera make)
